12 September 2008: Interview with Morbidzine Fanzine fromTurkey)
DOGSFLESH INTERVIEW
- Hails to British Punk Thrashers from Turkey! Before questions, Rob thank you so much to spent your time for us. The band released the latest album called "Vision of Hell" last year, and pure, fast Punk Metal is again, how do you characterize new Dogsflesh album? Do you believe all stuff was reflected with this album what you wanted?
No problem and greetings to all the Punx & Skinheads in Turkey.
We don’t really want to categorise ourselves under any specific banner, we just wanted to release an excellent album, which we believe we have achieved in Vision Of Hell, in its sounds and production.
We are really pleased with the finished album and have got really positive feedback from people who have bought the album which is always a good sign.
Dogsflesh returned after 20 years in 2005. What have band members been busy with in this long duration? Have you stayed in music scene?
The original members were all doing different things really, none of which have been associated with music, myself and Tim did a lot of motocross, Jon our singer spent time fishing and our original drummer John spent time playing football, we have also spent time getting married, drunk, divorced, raising kids and raising hell and constantly fighting the system.
- Can we say your returning EP called "The Threat Remains" was the accumulated fury of long years?
Yeah, we felt that we needed to write some new material which we could play live and release, as a lot of the older material was a little bit dated, so that is how The Threat Remains came about and its fair to say that it was an accumulation of frustration and fury of what was going on in the UK over a period of time.
- Could you tell us first show after reunion? How about the impressions of fans?
We were very surprised at the reception we got from the fans after a 20 year lay off. We only expected a small number to turn up for the show as it was in our hometown, and a lot of the old punx and skinheads who used to follow the band had moved on from that style of music and moved away from the area but there was in excess of 150 people in the venue which was really nice, especially reminiscing with them about the old shows.
- Which important things did you believe to get with last world tour? In example, how about the reactions of Asian audience?
We didn’t do a world tour, we just did Europe and USA and we went down really well in both places especially in America where we have just signed to Unrepentant Records who are releasing and distributing the Vision Of Hell album over there for us.
As for Asia, we have had a lot of interest in the band from Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Japan as there is a very up and coming market for Punk Rock, but due to the costs involved, not many bands get the opportunity to play there, although if the opportunity arose for us to play, we would take it. We have also contributed a track to go on a compilation album to be released in China.
- We heard there was a racism slander about the band with the "The Threat Remains", however we read your explanations on myspace. This is very ugly slander, what can be the main mission of this person who calumniate to band?
Yeah unfortunately with the type of music that we play, we are always going to get certain mindless people who are going to listen to the lyrics or titles of songs and label a band racist, which is what happened to us. I don’t know what they get out of causing trouble like that, but in my opinion there is no place for people like that in Punk Rock and for the record we are not Racist in any shape form or fashion and we don’t condone it either, we are a punk rock band who sing about whatever is happening in the world at this moment in time and we wont be told what we can and can’t sing about by some mindless individuals.
- If you compared pre-85 with the duration among 2005-2008, what are the changes or developments for band's musical ideas and attitude?
A lot of the songs we wrote about pre 85 were about unemployment and Maggie Thatcher, but I think we are a lot more diverse now in the subjects that we write about, which include Terrorism, Prison, The Labour Government, Child Support Agency, Kids Killing kids, Guns, Knife, Drug and Gang cultures in the UK, then there is also the war in Iraq, and any other topic which may make news. I also think that as a band we have not deviated from our UK82 roots, we keep things fast and simple, which I think the newer fans like.
- You are one of the fellow bands which defined the UK82 sound with the bands like GBH, The Exploited, Broken Bones, Discharge, English Dogs etc... As differently from these bands, why did you want to suspend for a long years?
It wasn’t that we wanted to suspend things for that long, its just that the punk scene in England died around 1986, with most of the bands splitting up, with the exception of The Exploited and GBH, and the audiences moved on to other kinds of music and that’s basically what happened to us, so we decided to call it a day.
- Have you ever been inspiration or requests from these bands to return and play again?
Very much so, we went to watch GBH and Broken Bones at a punk all dayer in Leeds back in 2004 and some of the bands that were playing that day were awful and we all agreed that we were better than them back in our day, so that was the inspiration for us to get back together again and reform.
- I want to thrust in a question about English Dogs. Now, they are completely a metal band, as you know they play Power Metal. What's your ideas about their new sound?
I think that statement was true from about 1985 onwards, but since then we have become good friends with The English Dogs and apart from Pinch the drummer, the old band has re-formed with Wakey back on vocals and they have returned to the old UK82 punk sound, and when playing live they only play tracks from their first 2 albums, they don’t do any of the metal tracks at all.
As far as my opinion on the band when they went metal, I personally loved the music and I think that their To The Ends Of The Earth EP is one of the best bits of music they have written.
- Now, about the early days. Does band have any unreleased demo recordings before 1985's "Bloody Road To Death"? What's the first main influences of band as musical and lyrical?
Yeah we contributed 2 tracks to a compilation album called ‘The New Bowery’ which was released on Teesbeat Records in 1983 and we also recorded an unreleased 3 track demo called ‘Never Give In’ back in 1982. As far as our influences went back then, music wise they were The Exploited, GBH & Discharge, then later on we were also influenced by The English Dogs. Lyrically we were like most of the other bands at the time mainly writing songs about unemployment, Margaret Thatcher, Drugs and the Police.
- I think "Mad Punx & Psycho Skins" is a symbolic song for band's attitude. What did band want to tell us as main theme? Is this a definition of friendship among the Punks and Skinheads?
I wrote that song back in 1983 because it summed up what was happening to us as a band, we had an equal split of followers, punks and skinheads which was unusual at the time as most bands had either the punks following them like GBH, Discharge & Vice Squad Etc, then you had the Skinheads who followed bands like The Business, The Cockney Rejects, Blitz etc, so it was unusual for a band like us to have both bands of followers.
- Some British Punk bands like you and above-mentioned, have approached more Metal sound with the Punkish attitude year after year and. In your opinion which reasons have influenced all these bands?
In my opinion, it was just a natural progression, for a lot of the bands as they became better musicians and wanted to try different sounds and introduce more guitar solo’s and more metal riffs, it is just a role reversal really as you look at the likes of Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax etc, they all said that bands like Discharge and GBH were the influence on them.
- What do you think about the today of UK82 Punk movement? However what's your ideas about U.S. Punk/Hardcore, Crossover Metal bands like Black Flag, Misfits, Dead Kennedys, D.R.I., Suicidal Tendencies, Agnostic Front etc... Which of them do you usually follow or listen?
There is still a market place for UK82 music throughout the world, although the scene in the UK is slowly dying, which is why we try to play as many shows in Europe as we can where there is still a healthy scene. As for US punk bands like you mentioned above, I don’t really listen to any of them and certainly don’t follow any of them.
- There are some new bands which joined to Old School Punk/Hardcore, Crossover scene at last years. Is there a second burst blowup on Punk Scene? Or do you think there will be more developments for Punk scene in future?
I think that as long as people want to hear punk music, there will always be a demand for it, and there will always be new bands who will spring up, although I feel it has once again become an underground scene.
- We see today's popular Punk bands and bands which are mentioned as Punk like Emo, Emocore etc... Are these rubbish bands and their supporters is the pointer of a degeneration in music?
I get very frustrated when bands like Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Sum 41 and even Green Day get labelled as Punk Rock. The problem with the label, Punk Rock is that there are so many genres of the music now, like DBeat, Hardcore, UK82, 77 Punk, Oi, Thrash, Crustpunk and Grindcore etc that the media just tags anything with heavy guitars as Punk Rock. In my opinion there is a place for Emo style music and their followers and I would be wrong to say that they are rubbish, as im sure that some of those bands are very good musicians however its not a music that I ever listen to or have any interest in.
- Are you interested in with the Thrash Metal or more Extreme musical genres? What's your ideas about UK Bands like Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror, Electro Hippies, Carcass which built a bridge between Crustpunk and Grindcore?
I like some of the Thrash Metal bands like Onslaught and Wolfbrigade, although I do prefer metal bands like like Metallica, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue and Guns N Roses, music that you can hear what people are playing as opposed to just making a loud noise, I have never really listened to any of the above, I know I am stuck in my ways but I do genuinely prefer good old UK82 Punk and Oi Music.
- Is there a new album soon? If there are new materials, even you can't say a definite date, roughly; when will you release them? And could you tell us new album's sound and lyrical concept?
Were currently writing material for the new album, which hopefully will be released sometime next year, but the problem that we are having is that due to the excellent feedback from the Vision Of Hell album, the tracks will need to be really good, to make a better album than that, so we are being very selective as to the tracks that we will be putting on the album. We probably have about 3 tracks that are about ready, but are still working on the others. As for the sound and lyrical content, it will be just like Vision Of Hell, pure UK82 music, with lyrics about what is happening in the world today, that will never change for us as a band.
- Thanks for interview by Morbidzine and Turkish fans! Do you want to send last message to fans?
This has been a very difficult year for us as a band, having to face death’s, band members quitting and serious ill health, so I would like to thank all of the Punx & Skinheads in Turkey & throughout the world who have supported us, downloaded our music, bought our merchandise and come to our shows, without your support we would have called it a day a long time ago, but were still here and plan to be for the foreseeable future kicking out UK82 tunes. Thanx to you all and hopefully we’ll get the opportunity to play some shows in Turkey sometime in the future.

20 June 2008: Are Dogsflesh Racist
Are Dogsflesh Racist?????????????????
For any of you that are interested Dogsflesh have been removed from the Punk All Dayer in Leeds on September 13th, by the promoter because of a few mindless arseholes who called us, and specifically Rob the guitarist racist. This came about the last time the band played in Leeds at the Fenton, and when intoducing one of our songs called The Threat Remains, Rob used the term 'Raghead', which apparently one dickhead took exception to and demanded his money back. Since then, allegedly the promoter of the all dayer has had numerous complaints about the band playing the show and has bowed down to these fickle arseholes and decided to pull us from the show.
For the record we are not racist in any shape, form or fashion and dont condone it either, we are a punk rock band who dont give a shite about creed, colour, religious beliefs or any politcal organisations, we write about what is happening in the world today, be that earthquakes in China, Terrorists throughout the world, Gun Crime, Prison, Drugs, the shite government running this country or whatever we want to write about. We wont be frightened off by some mindless Anoraks who have nothing else to worry about in their shallow little lives, other than our guitarist using a throw away comment, GET A FUCKIN LIFE, that particular song is about the constant threat of terrorist attacks anywhere in the western world and for the record the bombings on the underground and airport in Scotland were carried out by Muslim extremists, that is what we wrote about. Whatever happened to the term Free Speech?
Its about time wankers and do gooders like that individual and his followers got themselves a life and leave us to play Punk Rock.

28 May 2008: News
It has been a while since the site has been updated and our apologies for that.
2008 was supposed to be a really busy year for the band with plans for a full European Tour and various other European dates to promote the Vision Of Hell Album, however due to circumstances out of the bands control, these have now had to be put on hold. For those of you that dont know, the band were returning from a gig in Italy back in February and on the flight home Rob had a massive siezure and ended up in hospital, after various brain scans and visits to the neurologist he has been given the all clear, however he still has a major problem with his back and as a consequence of that the band have decided to reduce the number of shows they do until his back is fully recovered.
28 May 2008: New Drummer
just to let you know that we now have a new drummer.
He is a guy from Middlesbrough called Gregg, who has been on the Teesside punk circuit for a number of years & he has played for Stockton punk band Give Him To Mongo.
Gregg has replaced our old Drummer, Richie who had been with us for 2 years. Richie intends to spend more time with his family and continue with his college work in the hope of gaining employment within a recording studio. We would like to thank Richie for all the fun sweat and tears you gave us in the past and good luck for the future and we would like to welcome Gregg on board (He dont know what he has let himself in for!!!!!!

December 2007
07 December 2007: USA Vision Of Hell Review
DOGSFLESH, ALONG WITH OTHER BRITISH PUNK BANDS LIKE THE EXPLOITED, GBH, BROKEN BONES AND DISCHARGE, HELPED ORIGINATE & DEFINE THE SOUND OF "UK82" PUNK, AKA: 2ND GENERATION UK PUNK.
AS A BAND, THE HISTORY OF DOGSFLESH REACHES ALL THE WAY BACK INTO ANCIENT TIMES; BACK TO THE OLDEN DAYS, TO ANOTHER PLACE IN TIME WHEN ROCK N ROLL WAS SHINY & NEW. SO MORE THAN LIKELY, THEIR 1ST SHOW PROBABLY KICKED OFF SOMEWHERE IN THE EARLY JURASSIC PERIOD, OR THEREABOUTS. AND YOU BETTER BET YOUR ASS THAT THE GUYS ARE STILL DELIVERING SOME SERIOUSLY FUCKING ANGRY, LOUD NOISE. (NOT SO MUCH D-BEAT, DISCHARGE, BUT CLOSER TO GBH AND/OR THE EXPLOITED).
AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED, DOGSFLESH ARE JUST THE SHIT. SERIOUSLY. AS A BAND, THEY BRING IT: IN BUCKETS. THEIR NEW CD PROVES THAT AS A MUSICAL STYLE, “UK82” CAN NOT ONLY STILL BE RELEVANT, IT CAN STILL BLOW DOORS. NONE OF THE TRACKS SOUND AT ALL DATED, TIRED, RECYCLED OR OVERLY DERIVATIVE. AND, UNLIKE RELEASES OUT THERE FROM OTHER “OLDER” BANDS THAT I COULD MENTION, AT NO TIME ON THIS RECORD DO THE GUYS SOUND LIKE SAD, WORN OUT, WANNA-BE CLONES OF THEIR YOUNGER SELVES. THANKFULLY, THERE ISNT ANYTHING REMOTELY CRINGE-WORTHY GOING ON WITH THIS CD, WHICH MAKES IT A GOOD ‘UN! HOWEVER, WITH NO US DISTRO, YOU CAN ONLY PICK UP A COPY AT ONE OF THEIR SHOWS…… HOPEFULLY THEY’LL HAVE SOME LEFT BY THE TIME THEY GET HERE.
OK, I THINK IVE COVERED THE ESSENTIAL POINTS. WE’VE BASICALLY GOT A BUNCH OF GENUINE GUYS HERE WHO ROCK AS HARD AS THEY EVER DID 25+ YEARS AGO, BACK WHEN THEY WERE PRETTY MUCH INVENTING THIS SHIT. ADD TO THAT THE FACT THAT THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY STILL AS PASSIONATE ABOUT & INSPIRED BY PUNK ROCK, AS THEY MUST HAVE BEEN BACK THEN. AND NOT JUST ABOUT THE MUSIC, BUT ABOUT PUNK AS A MOVEMENT AS WELL. DON’T BELIEVE ME? SPEND 2 MINUTES TALKING TO ROB, THEN JUDGE. YOU CANT FAKE GENUINE.
PS. DID I MENTION THAT THEY ALSO TALK FUNNY? AND I MEAN REALLY FUNNY SINCE THEY HAVE THE MISFORTUNE OF HAILING FROM TEESIDE, GAWD BLESS ‘EM.
PPS. OH, AND IF YOU GET A KICK OUT OF MOHAWKS AND SPIKEY LEATHER JACKETS, THIS IS THE BAND TO SEE…. SINCE THEY STILL SPORT BOTH!

17 October 2007: USA Tour Review
Our first venture over to the USA was a big success for the band and we would like to thank the following people for helping us make it the success it was :
Jenn, Marci & Caleb in Portland, Gregg and The Bloodclots in Seattle, Gabe in Medford, Tripp at Punk Ass Photo’s in Denver, Apple Music & Showcase Music in Portland, Jorge in Salt Lake City, Brian from The Infested in Vegas, John & Vanessa from All Out Attak, The Filth in Hermosa Beach, Todd and Rowland (LSD Productions) Chris from Guardsman, English Sarah, Jack at The Punk Rock Demonstration, Gerzain in Victorville, Shea in Long Beach, all the support bands who did the shows with us and finally everybody who turned up for the shows.
We had a great time over there and made a lot of new friends. The first week of tour was totally knackering doing a 15 hour drive and a 13 hour drive and being kept going by constant supplies of Monster energy drink. Unfortunately for us we were following The Vibrators around for the first 5 dates of the tour, which reduced the number of people who attended the shows, but the ones who did show up had a good time, as we did. On our day off we spent the day in Vegas and explored the strip and some of the casino’s, with Rob our guitarist actually walking away from Vegas a winner, Hmmmm, ask him how much he gambled and won?.
From there we hit California which we were really looking forward to, as we had heard nothing but good reports about the area. We kicked off in San Diego and played a blinding set to the best crowd on the whole tour, they went fucking mental and really made us welcome. From there we went to Hermosa Beach which was interesting to say the least, as the owner of the bar had taken the money off the kids and then kicked them all out at 10.30, before we went on stage, which they all took exception to and started to kick off, we went on stage to calm things down and the owner immediately turned off the vocals, so we continued to play, but 3 songs into the set the police arrived in force and advised us to stop playing and vacate the premises, which had by this stage had, had the toilets smashed up and buntings and ribbons ripped from the ceilings. A big thank you to Fed and Joey from The Filth for getting our money for us at that show. Ahaheim was a ghost show with only the bands turning up, which can only be expected as there had been no flyers or posters put up, even the venue knew nothing about the show????????????????? Hmmmmmmmmm.
Bakersfield was up next at the Dome, which is a strange little town, with stranger people, enough said on that show!
From Bakersfield we proceeded to Victorville where we played the Trilogy Theater with The Scarred, Defied, Destruct and Sakata and that was a cracking little show, a decent crowd who were really up for it and gave us a great reception, we then had another day off where we were looked after by John and Vanessa from All Out Attak and they showed us the sights of Venice Beach and Hollywood, which were both very interesting for us Limeys! Finally it was Ferns in Long Beach, which was another excellent show, with a good crowd who really enjoyed the music and even Oddy, our mate from Broken Bones/Conflict turned up for that show to lend us his support.
Well that basically sums up the 2 weeks we were in USA and we will definitely return, hopefully sometime next year.
Thanx again and Remember Punx Not Fucking Dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
17 October 2007: Dogsflesh To Support GBH

March 2007
19 March 2007: Interview with US Fanzine, Hymns of The Needles
1.whats the story on the band, line up,how long has it been in existence?
The band was formed in Middlesbrough, which is in the North East of England in the summer of 1982, the band comprised of Rob Moore-Guitar, Jon McQuade-Vocals, Tim Whitfield-Bass & John Lavender-Drums, and that continued until the band split up in 1985.
In the winter of 2004, we went to Leeds, to see our old friends GBH, Broken Bones and some other bands who were shite and we decided that night, that we were better than most of them, so the original band re formed and began touring again in February 2005, until in 2006, John Lavender, our drummer quit the band, only to be replaced by Richie Pendlington and that is the line up to date.
2.describe your style.
That is an easy question to answer, we are a UK82 Punk band.
3.what influences your sound?
Our influences were bands that were around in 82, especially The Exploited, Discharge, GBH, Broken Bones and The English Dogs.
4.what releases do you have, how can we contact you for demos/albums/merchandise?
We curently have 3 releases
The Bloody Road To Death EP
Live Album
The Threat Remains EP
As for merchandise, we have shirts, patches and badges for sale, which are only available via mail order as we have no distributor for CD'S or Merch at the moment.
If people want to purchase CD'S or Merchandise, they should go to the website www.dogsflesh.com and go to the contact page.
5.why should everyone listen to you/go to your shows?
Everyone shouldnt listen to us or come you our shows, we dont play music for the masses, we play music for the people that count.
We are not an over produced band, we are UK82 punk rock and that is a guitar, bass, drums and hard edged vocals and that is what you get from Dogsflesh, no fancy drum or guitar solo's, just punk rock as it was supposed to be, fast and noisy.
6.if any,.what are your favorite drugs/alchohol?
Rob-Guitar :Beer/Vodka & a cheeky spliff.
Jon-Vocals : Cigarettes & Beer Beer and more Beers
Tim-Bass :No Vices!!!!
Richie-Drums : McDonalds & the sneaky cigarette
12 March 2007: Interview with Chile magazine, Extreme Noise
This is an interview we did for Osvalso in Chile for his Magazine.
02.Tell us about Dogsflesh in the last time and a little description of your sound.Very years from '82..very very long history
Dogsflesh were formed in 1982 in Middlesbrough which is in the North East of England. We formed after listening to the New Breed of Punk Rock, like The Exploited, GBH and Discharge and it was from those three bands that we took our sound and image from.
The band played many shows around the UK as both headline band and as support to The Exploited, GBH, Discharge, Broken Bones, The UK Subs, The Anti Nowhere League, The Angelic Upstarts and many more, but the band split up in 1985 due to musical differences.
In January 2005 the band reformed after three of the original members went to see our old friends GBH & Broken Bones along with some other bands in Leeds who were all crap and we all agreed that we used to be better than all of those other bands in our day so we decided to give it another go and that is where we are today apart from Jon, our original drummer quit in 2006 and was replaced by Richie.
03.¿Who is the creator of the art in the discs?, ¿You have problems or censored?
Rob the guitarist does most of the artwork on the disks and cd covers and up to now we have had no problems with any of them being censored, but you never know what lies ahead.
04.Tell me about of 'The Threat Remains' and the public's answer? . any new material?
The Threat Remains is a 4 track ep, featuring 3 brand new tracks and one which we re-w rote for the cd called XBB, which stands for Ex Borstal Boy, its about life in a young offenders Jail, the second track is the Title track of the EP and is about terrorism and how you never know who your ememy really is, Thats Life is track three and that is a song about how life is supposed to be, going to school, getting a degree and then a top job and the final track Psycho Bitch is about one of the members ex girlfriends.
As for new material, yeah we have been writing some new songs for 2007 as we want to get away from playing songs that are over twenty years old and concentrate more on the new material and we are hoping to release a new studio album out later on in the year which will feature all new tracks.
05. You talk us about the recording during dogsflesh's life. That you wait that feel the fans with your work?.
Our first recording was on a compilation album released in the UK called The New Bowery in 1982 but it is one we try to forget about as they made us sound more like Duran Duran than the thrash punk band that we are, after that we recorded The Bloody Road To Death EP IN 84, and in Summer 2005 we released the Live album and in September 2006 we released the Threat Remains CD. As for o ur fans, they are very important to us and since we got back together again we have many fans from all over the world and their opinion means a lot to us, so if we are playing a lot of new material and our fans want to hear older songs, that is not a problem to us as we will play a set for what our fans want to hear.
06.Are others productions, dvd or videos?.
Yeah we have the live album available in DVD as well as CD and we are having a new DVD filmed next month at one of our UK shows
08.Who is Dogflesh in the present? (line up). Many changes?.
The current line up of the band is Rob Moore - Guitar, Jon McQuade - Vocals, Tim Whitfield - Bass & Richie Pendlington - Drums. Prior to that we had Jon Lavender our original drummer from 82/85 & 2005/2006 and Niggsi Johnson on lead guitar 84/85.
09. To who you thank to be inside the extreme music?.
It has to be The Exploited, GBH and Discharge as without them there would be no Dogsflesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10.The biggest problems like a band?.
The biggest problems that we have as a band is getting people off their arses and going to our or any punk gigs and also people who claim to be promoters and promise you tours of this country and that country and nothing ever comes of it, there are a lot of bullshitters in the music game and they all want a piece of you so be careful !!!!!!!!!
11.Who was the answer of the public in your shows?, tours, ¿Girls?, ¿Violence?
In the early days 82/85 we did all of the above tours, girls, drink, drugs and yeah there was plenty of violence back then especially between the Punx & Skinheads, but that seems to have died down now and people just get on with the shows and enjoy themselves.
12.Tell me about the lyrics.
We are not an anarchist band or an animal liberation movement band like Crass and Conflict, we just sing about whatever is topical at the time. At the moment a lot of our songs are about the arab world and the Muslims and all the terrorism shit that is going on in the world, but then we also sing about life in general and that wanker Tony Blair, who knows Osvaldo, maybe we will write a song about you!
13.They have other projects, bands?
No we dont have time for any other projects or any other bands
14.A personal question. Are working. ¿Styding? ¿When look the band in a couple of years?, ¿Your family support?
Three of us work full time and Richie is studying at college and that will not change in the future as we cannot make as much money playing our style of Punk Rock as we get from our jobs, as for families 3 of us are married with kids and Tim The bass guitarist is single. We do get a lot of support from our families, they have to be very understanding as we are away from home for long periods of time.
15. Which your hobbies is?, ¿Do you like of the cinema gore, porn or alternative? masturbate, kill cops?
Mine, Jon and Richies hobbies are our kids as when we are at home and we try to spend as much time with them as possible and Tims hobby is socialising.
As for the cinema, Tim is into anything, Richie and John are not into the cinema and i like Action and Horror films
16.Which is your opinion in front of the abuse of the animals and the continuous destruction of the planet?
Got no interest in any of the subjects at all, we leave that to Anarchist bands, we couldnt care less
17.¿which is your position in front of the religion and racism?.
We hate all religions as they are the root of every war, that there has ever been througout the world and as for racism, there is a lot of unrest in the UK at the moment due to the high number of immigrants that are coming into the country, especially muslims, and after 9/11 people are very wary of them, yet the government does nothing about it, they continue to let thousands into England everywhere, soon we will have ' An Enemy Within' which is the title of another of our new songs.
18. Something anyone about Chile?. (Musicly).
Pan Pipes is all i know about music in Chile, sorry about that, but i know you also make very nice red wine.
19. Talk me over differences with your old and new sound.
There is not a great deal of difference at all between the old and new sound, it is maybe a little faster but it can only be described as good old fashioned UK82 Punk Rock and we will not deviate or change that for anyone.
20.Well, thanks for the interview, I wish you luck in all your projects.
¿Something to say for the end?.
Thanx Osvaldo, Its been a pleasure doing this interview for Extreme Noise Magazine you guys fuckin rock and hopefully we will see you and your readers in the future, Thanx again and keep spreading the name of Dogsflesh in Chile and check out the websites www.dogsflesh.com & www.myspace.com/dogsflesh where there are tracks you can download for free.

23 February 2007: Romanian Fanzine Interview
We were recently interviewd by Mircea from More Punk Than You Zine based in Romania, The Interview is in full below:
More Punk Than You Zine:hey Rob.greetings from Romania.how are you?
Rob:Greetings to Romania from the UK, me and the rest of the band are all fine, busy playing UK shows and writing new material
Hehe after 20 years, you are together again. What made you get back together after this whole time?
Three of the original members of the band went to see our old friends GBH & Broken Bones in November 2004 along with some other bands in Leeds who were all crap and we all agreed that we used to be better than all of those other bands in our day so we decided to give it another go.
Tell me how were the concerts back in 1982,how was the UK scene? how is "cool" to pe part of a punk band as it is nowadays?
The concerts in 82 were wild, people jumping around on stage and many drunken fights, but that was the scene in those days, aggressive music, aggressive behaviour and plenty of drink and drugs. The UK scene was the best in the world between 82 and 84 with people travelling hundreds of miles following their favourite bands around on tour, quite often with no money, no transport and no accomodation, but it was just how it was then, it is very different now, people wont go out to see bands unless they are playing in their hometown and generally the punk scene in the UK is dying, that is why most bands play Europe and USA where there is still a healthy scene, but we still enjoy it.
I know that you have some tunes recorded.Do you have any material prepared for 2007?
Yeah we have been writing some new material for 2007 as we want to get away from playing songs that are over twenty years old and concentrate more on the new material and we are hoping to release a new studio album out later on in the year which will feature all new tracks.
I know you had some concerts and that you are going to play at Antifest 2007 in Czech Republic. And i know that you're going it have a tour in the US.Any more concerts?or do you consider yourself to old for this?haha
Ha HA You are never to old for Punk Rock, its in the blood, you are 'Born A Rocker & Die A Rocker, no seriously though we all love playing live, we are not a studio band, we are a live band and that it what we feed on. So as for gigs, yeah we have UK gigs lined up and The Antifest Festival in Czech Republic and then in September we are off to USA and Mexico on Tour, after that we are hoping to more gigs in Europe.
Do you know something about the east European scene?have you ever perfomed here?
We do not know a great deal about the Eastern European scene, but we have played Czech Republic twice and Slovakia once and you have a very healthy scene over there at the moment, the kids are really into the music, it is similar to how England was in 82 and we are hoping to arrange something for 2007 where we can come to Romania to do a couple of shows.
What can you tell me about the bands that inffluenced Dogsflesh in some way? I know that two of them were exploited and gbh. are there any others?
The bands that influenced us were The Exploited, Discharge and GBH and then a year or two later we got heavily into Broken Bones and The English Dogs.
It is strange looking back at those days where we would travel around the UK following bands on tour like Discharge and The Exploited to think that we have done shows and part tours with them and have become very good friends with them, especially The Exploited, Broken Bones and GBH.
I know that some of your songs have been a little "modified" to go on a compilation and that made you sound like Duran Duran. this thing happenes more and more often to lots of bands... they change the sound (at the request of the public or the label) just to sell. what do you think about this?
Yeah that really pissed us off, as that was the first time we had ever recorded anything, it was for a compilation album called The New Bowery which was released in 1982 and we recorded two tracks for it called Soldier Boy and Fight The System which were both fast thrashy songs but they completely took away that sound to make the album more marketable. Believe it or not that album is now a collectors album, however it is one that we would like to forget, it was a lesson learned and we will never conform or sell out like that again, people will either like us or hate us, but we wont change our sound.
An offtopic and stupid question: if MTV produced a show like "cribs" for punk bands, what punk band do you think would have the biggest house?
It depends on what MTV call Punk, if you go along what they term punk rock, then i would guess it would have to be Green Day, but if you are talking real punk rock, then that would have to be The Exploited, as in our opinion they are still the biggest punk band in the world, but if we are talking individuals then that would have to be my seven bedroomed house in the UK. HA HA.
Thank you for the interview and i hope to see you in Romania in 2007. i'll leave the last word to you. cheers.
Thanx Mircea, Its been a pleasure doing this interview for you and hopefully we will see you and your readers in 2007, Thanx again and keep spreading the name of Dogsflesh in Romania.

2006 was a good year for us as a band as we did our first ventures into Europe, playing Czech Republic twice, Slovakia and Austria where we went down very well with good crowds. 01 April 2006: Czech Republic
We played in the Czech Republic last weekend for the first time and the only word to describe it was 'AWESOME'. We had been told that the scene was on the decline and that there was no money over there and that you could not sell any merchandise. That could not be further from the truth, as we played Prague on Friday night and also Marty's Bar in the South of Czech on Saturday and both gigs had excellent turnouts and we sold every bit of merchandise that we took over there. The crowd love the old style UK 82 punk over there and never stopped jumping around and getting on the stage with us all night long, it was a brilliant weekend and we can't wait to go back there in October when we will also be playing in Austria, Slovakia and Germany.
A special thanx must go David and his band VAP, who really looked after us well and is a true friend.
Thanx David
01 April 2006: New Drummer
After the news that John was quitting the band after the Czech dates, we have been searching for a replacement and at last have found a person capable of 'Holding His Stix'
He is called Richie and has played in a few local metal bands, but his heart was always into Punk, so he came to audition and blew us all away. In two hours practicing he had 9 songs off to perfection, which is a big plus for us, as we can now get back on the road again sooner rather than later.
Welcome on board
March 2006
17 March 2006: New Material Recorded

The band are also busy preparing for their trip to the Czech Republic, where they will be playing Klub 007 in Prague on Friday 24th March & at Marty's Bar in Ceske Budjovice on Saturday 25th March.

January 2006
23 January 2006: Falkirk Gig Cancelled
Unfortunately our gig on Saturday 28th Jan has had to be cancelled. This had nothing to do with the band, but was purely down to the venue, as we hadn't paid a £50.00 booking fee to cover any breakages, we then got a phone call last Thursday telling us the gig was off and they had given the night to another band.We tried to resolve this and speak to Tracy the landlady but she didn't even have the decency to phone us back, so apologies to everyone who was going ta attend the gig, but we will be doing more gigs in Scotland during 2006, starting with The Path Tavern in Kirkcaldy on Friday 27th January.
09 January 2006: Drummer Quits Band
It is with great regret that John Lavender, our drummer has decided to quit the band due to family commitments. As a band we would like to thank john for all his hard work during the past 12 months, and for assisting in getting us back on the punk rock map.
Like the professional that he is, john will honour all of our existing tour dates in 2006 and then leave.
09 January 2006: Drummer Required !
With John Quitting the band,we will be seeking a new drummer immediately as we have further dates in the UK,Europe and the West coast of America booked for later on in 2006 which are just awaiting confirmation from us.
Any drummers who are interested in this, please contact the band via the contact page and we will get back to you.
Rob, John, Tim

04 January 2006: Yorkshire House Gig Cancelled
Unfortunately we have had to cancel our gig at The Yorkshire House, Lancaster on Sat 7th January, due to problems with the venue. Apparently the support bands all pulled out and then the sound engineer went ill, so apologies to anyone who was going to the gig.We have provisionally booked a date in July, but this will be confirmed next week.
December 2005
21 December 2005: 2005 Review
Well after our first 10 months back on the road, there have been some high's & lows for us. The highs were getting our own website up and running and supporting our mates Broken Bones twice along with The Anti Nowhere League three times, The UK Subs, The Cockney Rejects and The Abrasive Wheels. Then there were our first gigs in Scotland and Wales & all the support & feedback that we got from the people who turned up at our gigs.
The lows were getting ripped off by arsehole promoters and playing to virtually empty rooms.
We would also like to thank Tim Davies at punk4life website, OMD,Broken Bones, Stevie at Rockers, Glasgow, Nigel at the Ringside Hull and everyone who has supported us and given us a chance in 2005.
We are looking forward to 2006, where there will be more firsts for the band, including European gigs and a new studio album, to be released late spring. early summer time.
Thanks again to everyone
Dogsflesh

See gig guide for full list of confirmed gigs.
17 November 2005: Stoke Gig Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to the owner selling the venue, our gig with Broken Bones on Sat 26th November has been cancelled
16 November 2005: New Material
As some of you might be aware, there has been a lack of gigs during the past 5 weeks. This is due to being busy writing new material for our studio album, which we are hoping to release in the Spring. There are already some songs finalised called Psycho Bitch, Chase The Dragon,Thats Life and the title track of the forthcoming album, The Threat Remains.
